So I was so excited about picking up traktor, and now that I've been messing with it for a day or two, I'm really surprised at the lack of control when using the otus...
I was really looking forward to the feel of beatmatching and tactile adjustments, but the way this program operates I have to do all the mixing with cue points and syncing....
One of the decks doesn't start when I want to... I have to hold the deck down and release it in order to start the track without moving wheel forward... If I move the wheel forward like a realistic release, it won't start the track.... Has anyone encountered this?
Furthermore, minor adjustments are very limited and standardized... When I crank my pitch bend it slows down or speeds up the track by 3 bpm's with no tactile sensitivity....
Ugh... such shattered expectations...
Is this an otus problem or a software problem? What are your experiences with traktor running CDJ's or vinyl?

I always thought traktor was like the Serato of CDJs?
Ask jameson or jerry, they use them shits a lot.

i haven't been running traktor using midi yet, but with timecodes i find it as intuitive as just using CDJs or serato.

Yea... except with CDJ's the pitch bend is pressure sensitive, with vinyl this is obviously the case as well...
With traktor, the pitch bend is a lot like the nudge buttons in ableton, although I noticed pushing the actual buttons on the screen are much more sensitive than using the otus.... I just don't feel like having to push buttons on the computer in order to beat match.... Maybe I'll just run it through the midi controller...

One nice thing is that Traktor is completely compatible with the otus, so the basic midi map was already preprogrammed.... dunno if they have a map for the UC-33 though... Didn't see it on techtools, but it's not a big deal, the programming is not that bad :)
